Delete Index.datHow do you delete index.dat files when you cannot even view them on your computer? Thats the trick to delete index.dat. You will need special delete index.dat software to view, clean, erase and remove the sensitive data that is contained in these types of files. The only delete index.dat program I can wholeheartedly recommend is CyberScrub. CyberScrub can safely and securely delete index.dat files. Why should you delete index.dat? They contain records of your past internet activities. There are 5 kinds of records in these files: I. URL - this contain an URL and a reference to a local file where it is stored. II. REDR - this kind of records contain references to the pages that were not saved in the temporary internet files. Usually they are dynamic files. These are the most dangerous records, as they may contain sensitive information like passwords. III. LEAK - those are similar with REDR records, but for some reason they are named like this What I have to say here is that, as you can see, you need to delete index.dat because these files are very dangerous, because they may store (and any person that knows what too look for can see) sensitive information about what you surfed and even your passwords or credit card numbers. Bottom line: delete index.dat | delete index.dat
